Pensions and retirement planning

Paul Clark

Paul is a pensions specialist and is a chartered financial planner.

His past experience has been with Ernst & Young and Grant Thornton; J Rothschild Assurance (now St James’ Place), Cavanagh Group . Paul was also a Tax Officer for Lloyds Bank.

Paul specialises in all aspects of the pensions planning process and has considerable experience delivering specialist but highly practical adviser training and development on pensions and retirement planning.


Rob Gaines LLb

Over 35 years in the financial services industry of which 30 years have been specialising in pensions. Eleven years as self-employed. Previously worked for Greig Middleton Financial Services (IFA) and life assurance companies, almost exclusively in management roles. Life assurance companies included Hambro Life, Schroder Life and St. James’s Place.

Neil Williams

Neil has a number of industry qualifications including;

  • Associate of Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII)
  • Fellow of Personal Financial Society (FPFS)
  • Investment Management Certificate (IMC)
  • Chartered Financial Planner.

Role

Neil provides valuable support and insight to our business and clients on all aspects of the financial planning process including, in particular, taxation, trusts, pensions and investment. Neil also contributes strongly to the creation, development and maintenance of adviser and consumer facing financial planning tools.

Neil has over 35 years of experience in financial services, of which the last 15 years have focused primarily on providing in-depth technical support and guidance in complex matters involving pensions, investments, tax and trusts to IFAs, accountants, and solicitors.

Using his considerable knowledge and experience, Neil has developed a range of specialist financial planning calculators used by IFAs throughout the UK. The planning calculators also include financial modelling capabilities giving invaluable support to IFAs as they work with their clients throughout the financial planning process.


Nick Edwards

Nick specialises in advising  on investments, trusts, tax planning, software development and financial planning strategy.

Nick's professional qualifications are:

  • Fellow of the Institute of Financial Planning (FIFP)
  • Certified Financial Planner (CFPCM)
  • Fellow of the Personal Finance Society (FPFS)
  • Chartered Financial Planner.
  • Holder of the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) and a number of other financial planning exams

Protection

Peter Le Beau

Peter Le Beau is one of the leading consultants in the life and health protection sector.

Beginning his career with Commercial Union he was involved in reinsurance for over 30 years, latterly as Head of UK Marketing at Swiss Re.  In 2001 he started Le Beau Visage, a consultancy specialising in the protection sector.

He also developed the Protection Review in 2003  with Andy Couchman, his co- Chairman, and it is now established as the leading independent commentary on the protection industry.

He formed the Income Protection Task Force with Clive Waller in 2005 and is the co-Chairman . He is a director of Exeter Family Friendly, Red Arc, Health Claims Bureau and Fineos.

Peter received the MBE for services to insurance and charity in 2009.
